Sonia McColl heads the Justice for Park Homeowners campaign. She has spent years campaigning for the rights of park homeowners and has made a few enemies in doing so.

After receiving death threats, she decided to sell her park home and buy a new one to pitch on relatives’ land. But the new home disappeared in transit leaving her homeless and £30,000 out of pocket. Her son says “It is stretching credulity to believe that this is just a piece of bad luck. I am sure that this is a planned form of revenge.”

She was awarded an OBE for her work in campaigning to close a loophole that let rogue park operators to buy up resident’s homes at a fraction of their true value. Park home owners lease their pitches and are subject to same exploitative leasehold law that applies to the rest of England & Wales.
