FM to reform consents process

Warner loft – Clare Brock

We are pleased to report that Freehold Managers have agreed to improve their consents procedures. They plan to draw up agreed processes for the various requests and lease scenarios they deal with, and to share them with Warner residents.

Most Warner leases require the leaseholder to ask the freeholder for consent to any structural alterations. The clause usually adds that permission is not to be unreasonably refused but in practice many people have experienced long delays, conflicting information and unjustified costs.

Freehold Managers plc manage the Warner portfolio on behalf of the freeholders and Emma Power, Associate Director says “I am keen to improve the relationship between my firm and the Warner estate leaseholders and hope over the coming months some clarity on our procedures, processes and rationale behind any decision made would aid this”.

We welcome the opportunity to work with FM on this and want to forward a full list of the main problems and queries residents have. If you have experienced problems, or have questions about the process of getting consent for alterations, please let us know.
